Russia’s central bank says maintains key rate at 4.25%

MOSCOW, Feb 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank has maintained its key rate at a historical low of 4.25% annually for a fourth time in a row, the regulator said in a statement on Friday.

“The board of directors of the Bank of Russia decided on February 12, 2021 to keep the key rate at the level of 4.25% annually,” the statement read.

“The price growth remained high in December and January, and demand recovery is faster and more sustainable that expected. Still, supply restrictions remain, which continues to push prices higher.”
